Why use AI voiceover for employee training videos?
Training content changes often: a new HR policy, an updated safety procedure, a software release. With an AI voiceover, the narration lives as text, so updating a module means editing a sentence and regenerating a clip in the same voice. There is no need to find the original narrator or re-record a whole course.
It also gives every module the same professional sound, whether it was written by HR, IT or a shift supervisor. And because Speechma offers 75+ languages and locales, a US company can provide the same onboarding in English and Spanish, or for teams in other countries.
How do I narrate a training module with AI?
- Storyboard the moduleList each slide or screen with one learning point. Write the narration for that slide underneath it.
- Split the script into clipsOne clip per slide works best. Each conversion takes up to 2,000 characters, and short clips make future updates easy.
- Choose a clear voice and lock settingsPick a calm, neutral voice, save it as a favorite, and keep speed and pitch identical across the whole course.
- Generate and download allGenerate each clip, then use “download all” to get them as one ZIP with a consistent order.
- Build and publishAdd the audio to PowerPoint, Google Slides, Articulate Storyline, Rise, Camtasia or your editor, export as video or SCORM, and upload to your LMS.

Onboarding welcome (30 seconds)
Welcome to [Northline Logistics]. We’re glad you’re on the team. Over the next twenty minutes, you’ll learn how we work, who to ask for help, and what to expect in your first week. Let’s start with the most important thing: safety.
Safety procedure
Before you operate the forklift, complete the pre-shift inspection. Check the tires, the forks and the horn. Test the brakes. If anything looks wrong, stop; tag the forklift out of service, and tell your supervisor right away. Never operate equipment you haven’t been trained and certified to use.
Software how-to
To request time off, open the [PeopleHub] app and tap Time Off. Choose your dates, select the type of leave, and add a short note for your manager. Tap Submit. You’ll get an email as soon as it’s approved.
Knowledge check
Quick question before we move on. If you notice a spill in an aisle, what’s the first thing you should do? Pause the video, choose your answer, then continue.
Which voice works for each type of training?
| Training type | Voice style | Settings and tips |
|---|---|---|
| Onboarding and culture | Warm, welcoming American voice | Normal speed; use “we” and “you” |
| Safety and compliance | Calm, authoritative voice | Slightly slow; pause after each rule |
| Software and IT | Clear, neutral voice | Normal; match the cursor |
| Customer service skills | Friendly, conversational voice | Normal; use example dialogues with two voices |
| Leadership and soft skills | Mature, thoughtful voice | Slightly slow |
| Multilingual workforce | Native voices in English, Spanish and more | Same visuals, separate audio per language |
Dos and don’ts for training narration
- Do keep modules short: one topic and five to ten minutes keeps attention.
- Do write acronyms as they should be spoken (“O-S-H-A” or “OSHA,” depending on how your team says it).
- Do add captions for accessibility. Use Speech to Text with sentence timestamps for a caption draft.
- Do have an expert review every safety or compliance script. The voice will read errors just as confidently as facts.
- Don’t clone an executive’s voice without written permission. A library voice is simpler and avoids confusion.
- Don’t read slides word for word. Narration should explain; the slide should summarize.
For L&D teams and training platforms
Teams narrating full courses can use SpeechmaPRO.com for up to 10,000 characters per conversion, with no captcha or ads. LMS and training software providers can add narration to every lesson through the Speechma API, from $9/month.
