What Udio does well, and why people still look around
Udio gives you a lot of control: a custom lyrics editor, an instrumental mode, and manual options for people who like to tweak. Its help center explains the credit system clearly, and paid subscribers get early access to new features.
The trade-off is limits. On the free plan, Udio’s help center lists 10 credits a day, an extra monthly limit of 100 credits, and a cap of three 130-second songs per day. Credits do not roll over. That is plenty for trying the app, but tight if you need several versions of a jingle by Friday.
Udio’s download and licensing terms have also changed over time, so if you plan to publish a song, read Udio’s current terms first. Speechma keeps it simple: every song you make downloads straight to your device, and commercial use is included.

When Udio may be the better choice
If you like Udio’s sound, use its editing tools a lot, or want to be part of its community and early-access features, staying with Udio makes sense. Paid plans give a lot of monthly credits for heavy creators.
Speechma is a better fit when you need a song now, without an account or credit math, and you want a downloaded file you can use in a video, ad or podcast. Many people use both: draft ideas in one, finish in the other.
A quick prompt to compare them side by side: “Feel-good pop punk, fast tempo, about a dog who steals socks, 90 seconds.” Run it in each tool and listen on the same headphones.
