What is a safe free alternative to FakeYou?
If you want fun character voices that you can publish without legal worries, Speechma’s Voice Design is a free alternative to FakeYou. You describe the voice you want, such as “grumpy old wizard, deep and slow, slight British accent”, add your script, and Speechma creates a brand-new voice that does not belong to any real person. You can use the result commercially, and there is no account.
FakeYou’s site title calls it a “Celebrity AI Voice and Video Generator.” Its terms of service say you may not use its deepfakes for commercial use, unless a voice is specially marked as commercial, and that all published uses must be labeled “deep fake”. The terms also say not to impersonate people without labeling the output as parody.
Speechma does not offer cloning of celebrities, politicians, streamers or any other real people without their consent. That is a deliberate choice. A made-up voice gives you the character you want and keeps your YouTube channel, ad or game safe from takedowns.

What should I type instead of a celebrity name?
Describe the qualities you like about a voice, not the person. These prompts work well in Voice Design.
| Character idea | Voice Design description to try |
|---|---|
| Epic movie narrator | Deep male voice, 50s, slow and dramatic, warm American accent |
| Cartoon sidekick | High-pitched young voice, fast, playful, a little squeaky |
| Southern sheriff | Middle-aged man, relaxed drawl, low and steady, dry humor |
| Royal villain | Cold, elegant woman, 40s, crisp British accent, slow and menacing |
| Friendly AI assistant | Calm gender-neutral voice, clear, even pace, gentle and helpful |
Small changes in wording, like “gravelly” or “breathy”, change the result. Try two or three versions.

What are Speechma’s limits?

- A captcha per generation. The free site asks for a 5-digit code each time.
- No accounts or cloud history. Save your favorite voice descriptions in a note so you can recreate a character later.
- 2,000 characters per text to speech conversion. Long scripts are generated in parts, or on SpeechmaPRO.com at 10,000 characters per conversion.
