How to generate an AI voice
- Decide on the job firstA 15-second TikTok hook, a two-minute explainer and a game character each need a different voice. Know the mood before you browse.
- Shortlist three voicesFilter by language and country, preview several voices with the same sentence, and add your top three to favorites.
- Or pick a character voiceFor dramatic reads, open the Voice styles filter and choose a narrator, trailer, documentary, news or storyteller style (up to 1,000 characters).
- Paste your script and adjustAdd up to 2,000 characters for standard voices. Tweak speed and pitch until the energy matches your visuals, add real pauses with the pause buttons in Voice Effects, and pick a Speaking Style (such as cheerful or excited) if your voice offers one.
- Generate and downloadEnter the 5-digit security code, press Generate Audio, and save the MP3 to drop into CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve or any editor.
What makes an AI voice sound realistic
A realistic AI voice is not only about the voice itself. Listeners judge naturalness by rhythm, emphasis and how well the voice fits the content. Three things make the biggest difference:
- Fit. A warm, mid-paced American voice feels natural on a cooking tutorial; the same voice can sound odd reading a horror story. Choose for the content, not for the voice you like most.
- Rhythm. Real speakers pause. Add an exact pause with a tag like
[break 1s](the pause buttons in Voice Effects insert one for you), break long sentences up, and use commas and full stops to create breathing room. - Restraint. Extreme speed or pitch settings are the fastest way to sound robotic. Stay close to the default and adjust in small steps.
Want to hear the difference? Generate this line twice, once as written and once without punctuation: “Wait. Did you hear that? Something’s moving in the dark… and it’s getting closer!” The punctuated version will sound far more human. For more on choosing natural voices, see realistic text to speech.

Quick tips from busy creators
- Lock your settings. Write down the voice name, speed and pitch you used so episode 12 sounds like episode 1.
- Record in chunks. Generate one scene or paragraph at a time. It is much easier to redo one line than a whole script.
- Use a male and a female voice for dialogue. Alternating two clearly different voices makes interviews and skits easy to follow. Browse the male and female voice pages.
- Leave room for music. Slightly slower speech sits better under background music than a rushed read.
- Download everything at the end. “Download all” saves every clip from your session as one ZIP file.
A 30-second ad script you can try right now
Paste this into the generator, try it with two or three voices, and compare which one sells the product best:
“Tired of cold coffee by 10 a.m.? Meet the Thermo Mug. It keeps your drink hot for six hours; iced drinks stay cold all day. Spill-proof lid, dishwasher safe, and it fits every cup holder. Order today and get free shipping!”
Notice what the script does: a question to hook attention, short benefit sentences, a semicolon for a mid-length pause, and an exclamation point to finish with energy. Write numbers out (“six hours”, “ten a.m.”) if a voice reads them differently than you expect. For more ad-specific advice, read our commercial voiceover guide.
