Can I convert Farsi text to speech for free?
Yes. Paste your Farsi text into the tool above. The voice list is filtered to Persian (the name used in the list), so you only need to pick Dilara or Farid, press generate, and download the MP3.
The Iranian diaspora is large and creative. Los Angeles has such a big Iranian community that people call part of it “Tehrangeles”, and there are strong communities in Toronto, Vancouver, Houston, London and across Germany and Sweden. Persian audio is used for Nowruz party invitations, poetry nights, YouTube channels, podcasts, and small businesses advertising to Farsi-speaking customers. Kids born abroad who speak Farsi at home use audio to learn the script, and partners of Iranian families use it to learn greetings before a family visit.
Which Persian voices are available?
| Voice | Gender | Locale | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dilara | Female | Iran | Invitations, lessons, social videos, product promos |
| Farid | Male | Iran | Narration, poetry readings, news-style updates |
Both voices use the standard Tehran-style accent understood by Persian speakers everywhere. Speakers of Dari and Tajik will understand them too, though the accent will sound Iranian.

Persian sample sentence
“سلام! نوروزتان پیروز. شما را به جشن نوروزی ما در روز شنبه دعوت میکنیم.”
English: “Hello! Happy Nowruz. We invite you to our Nowruz celebration on Saturday.”
Paste it above and play it with Dilara or Farid. Swap in your own date and place, and you have an audio invitation for your family group chat.
How can I make Persian audio sound right?
Persian script has a few traps. The biggest is the zero-width non-joiner (the “half space”), used in words like میکنیم and کتابها. Without it, letters join in the wrong place, and the voice may read the word oddly. Most Persian keyboards add it with Shift+Space or a special key. Also, text copied from Arabic sources sometimes uses Arabic ي and ك instead of Persian ی and ک. They look almost the same but can affect the result.
Finglish (Persian written in Latin letters, like “merci, khoobam”) is read like English, so convert it to Persian script first. Write prices in words for ads, for example بیست دلار (twenty dollars). For poetry by Hafez or Rumi, add commas where you want the reader to breathe; a comma gives a short pause and a semicolon a medium one.
Formal written Persian and everyday spoken Persian differ quite a bit. A sentence like میخواهم بروم (I want to go) is the written form, while people usually say میخوام برم. For news, lessons and official messages, use the written form. For a casual Instagram video or a family greeting, the spoken form sounds warmer and more natural. Pick one style and stick with it for the whole script.
When reading poetry, put each line (misra) on its own and end it with a comma or period. This gives the verse a steady rhythm instead of running the lines together.
