Why people look for a Suno alternative
Suno made AI songs mainstream, and it has a lot going for it: a big community, strong models on paid plans, stem separation and its own studio on the top tier. For many hobby songwriters, that is a great home.
The question most people hit is rights. According to Suno’s own help center, songs made on the free plan are owned by Suno and can be used for non-commercial purposes only. Commercial rights come with the Pro and Premier subscriptions. That is fair for a business model, but it is a problem if you just need a birthday song for a local bakery’s Instagram, a jingle for a podcast, or a short track for a monetized YouTube video.
Speechma takes a simpler route. The Song tool is free, there is no account, and commercial use of what you make is included, as long as you have the rights to the lyrics and any reference track you upload.

Example: a 60-second song for a small business
Here is a short lyric you can paste to test the tool. It works well with a style like “bright acoustic pop, hand claps, cheerful female vocal”.
[Verse 1]
Morning on Maple Street, the ovens warm and bright
Cinnamon in the air, we’ve been baking since the night
[Chorus]
Come on down to Rosie’s, there’s a table saved for you
Fresh bread every morning, and the coffee’s always new
Keep lines short and rhythmic. Repeat the chorus at least twice in longer songs; AI singers sound more natural when the structure is clear. If a word is sung oddly, spell it the way it sounds, for example “gonna” instead of “going to”.
When Suno may be the better choice
We would rather you pick the right tool. Suno is likely the better fit if you want a large community to share songs with, personas and advanced song editing, its Studio with MIDI and effects (on Premier), or the ability to record and create with your own voice. If you already pay for Suno Pro or Premier, you have commercial rights there, so there is less reason to switch.
Speechma is the better fit when you want something free, quick and commercially usable without an account, or when you also need narration, voice cloning, background music or vocal removal in the same place.
Tips for better AI songs
- Tag every section. [Intro], [Verse 1], [Chorus], [Bridge] and [Outro] help the song follow a real structure.
- Name two or three instruments. “Piano, soft strings, light drums” beats a long list of ten.
- Match length to lyrics. A 2-minute song needs roughly two verses and two choruses; an 8-minute song needs much more text.
- Try instrumental first when you only need a bed for a video, then add vocals once the vibe is right.
- Only use reference tracks you have rights to, and never ask for a real artist’s voice.
